Position Summary:


Recognized expert in the Package Development organization with proven technical acumen and accomplishments. This position provides technical leadership to the organization with regard to packaging for new product platforms, cost reduction and new package technology evaluation and implementation. Proven project management skills and ability to lead large cross-functional teams on major packaging initiatives.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Lead technical support for packaging new products and package material projects. Plan, research, organize, and implement project work. Lead projects from concept to completion. Interact and communicate with team members from various functions i.e., Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Regulatory, Finance, Engineering, Co-Pack and Legal. Solve technical hurdles and issues as they relate to package material and packaging processes. Communicate project status and findings to Senior management. Act and is recognized as an expert in the field.

Lead and direct package technology innovation. Identify and implement opportunities to drive business growth via new and improved package materials and package technologies. Leverage vendor base as a resource network for new opportunities for business growth. Remain current in understanding new packaging technologies that could be used for current and new business opportunities. Build collaborative relationships with current and new vendor base.

Working in conjunction with intellectual property personnel, develops protection strategies for new technologies.

Evaluates relevant cross-category technical innovations.
Other duties as needed and/or assigned.

BS/MS/PHD in Package Engineering or related Engineering discipline. 15 years consumer products goods or other relevant experience.Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in material technology, package engineering and processing required.Demonstrated capability to use new technology to significantly improve profitability, product or package quality and/or manufacturing complexity issues.Demonstrated project management skills and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
