Hewlett-Packard’s OpenView Pre-Sales organization provides software solutions that help customers align IT with business priorities. The OpenView portfolio addresses all aspects of Enterprise Management – encompassing Business Process Management, IT Service Management, Application management, Infrastructure management, Configuration Management, and Identity Management. HP OpenView is one of the fastest growing Enterprise Management portfolios in the market.

 

This position is for a Solution Architect. Other industry terms for this position are Technical Consultant, Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Sales Consultant.

 

Job Description

 

You will lead the technical sale of HP OpenView solutions including requirements gathering, solution development, presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, RFI/RFP responses, competitive differentiation, ROI/TCO studies, and project management of the technical sales process.  The customer base is mainly the Fortune 500 companies. You will develop solutions using OpenView and partner products that integrate with your customer’s existing infrastructure to meet their business and technical requirements.

 

As the primary pre-sales technical interface with the customer, you will work to gain mind-share and share HP OpenView strategy and the Adaptive Enterprise Vision

 

You will work with an elite team of Pre-sales Solution Architects and Sales Representatives.  You will work closely with HP’s Consulting and Integration services in order to assure a successful hand-off for implementation. You will receive formal training as well as mentorship from your peers, and be expected to contribute to the knowledge base as you gain experience. You will be expected to constantly learn and demonstrate competencies in new technologies, products and solutions.



Required profile:

Bachelor's degree preferably in technical field

Must have experience and technical knowledge of network management tools

Technical knowledge and experience in enterprise-level software solutions

Technical knowledge and experience in OpenView and/or competing products (e.g. Mercury, IBM Tivoli, Computer Associates CA Unicenter, BMC) is preferred
Technical competence and experience with ITIL based Service Management tools 

Demonstrated success in a software presales consulting role (also known as Technical Consultant, Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Sales Consultant)
Demonstrated success in large sales with Fortune 500 customers
Excellent customer communication and presentation skills
Strong sales & negotiation skills
Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
Ability to present proposals persuasively
Excellent team skills,
Winning attitude.
Ability to have a flexible schedule and work from a home office is required
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time is required
