Subcontracts/Commodity Manager

Manages staff of Subcontract Managers and Senior Commodity Managers. Consolidates and leverages corporate business with suppliers. Synchronizes Cray and supplier technology roadmaps. Understands significant supplier competition, their roadmap technology, price, etc. Leads/coordinates joint supplier and Cray?s industry advancements. Plans & facilitates supplier business reviews. Develops new suppliers for leading edge technologies. Ensures leveraging supplier and commodity strategies into new designs (proto & production houses). Manages risk buys to secure capacity, availability, pricing, etc. Oversees the management of large dollar and/or technical/strategic contracts for the corporation. Develops detailed sourcing strategies, to include the RFP, scoring and other down selection activities. Acts as business lead in selection of and negotiations with new suppliers. Develops detailed negotiation strategies and lead/assists major negotiations with suppliers. Understands cost/price analysis techniques. Develops policy/procedures, experienced in the implementation. Researches and understands commodity trending. Organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the strategic supplier product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assigns and monitors work of all suppliers, providing direction to staff as required and reporting consolidation of activities to senior management.

Experience/Education:
Detailed knowledge and experience in negotiations of significant contract terms and conditions. Ensures Cray?s early involvement in new product development. FAR experience positive. Expertise in computer components is a plus.

Requires a minimum of 5-10+ years of related experience. A minimum of 5 years in a Senior Management level of Senior Subcontracts/Commodity Management is required.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. CPM Certification preferred.
