Position Description:

 

Manages and leads a team of non-exempt individuals responsible for processing accounts payable, recording and reporting on cash movement and control, and processing 1099s for multiple Western & Southern Financial Group business units. Improves or automates accounts payable processes, ensures internal controls are in place with regards to accounts payable processes, monitors costs and expenses within the Company, recommends cost saving opportunities, performs some financial reporting and performs other special projects as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Manages and leads a team of non-exempt individuals responsible for processing accounts payable for various Western & Southern Financial Group business units.

?  Oversees all the day-to-day financial operations responsibilities for multiple business units to include cash movement and control, cash flow statements, accounts payable and sales reporting.

?  Monitor invoice and deposit log to Macola ES processed items to ensure checks and deposits are processed in a timely manner. 

?  Oversees financial reporting as it relates to accounts payable and cash control.

?  Approval authority for all invoices or check requests < $10K and all wires < $40K.

?  Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff.  Provides direction to and development of associates through daily coaching, the administration of the Performance Management Program, and the creation and implementation of development plans.

?  Implement positive pay processing. Approve and investigate exceptions.

?  Review and approve bank reconciliations and investigate open items for clearing.

?  Implements effective processes and procedures for accomplishing and improving the work.

?  Provides and ensures the delivery of exemplary customer service to senior management.

?  Ensures proper internal controls related to accounts payable processes are in place to safeguard the company.

?  Monitors costs and expenses within the Company and recommends cost saving opportunities.

?  Assimilates and prepares business unit?s documentation for Executive Committee approval meetings.

?  Stays current on trends in our business, networking and being aware of our competitors? strategies and major operational initiatives.

?  Oversee the year-end 1099 process.

?  Develops business requirements for the automation of accounts payable processing.

?  Develops and executes strategic initiatives in operation that give the company a competitive edge.

 

 

Requirements:

 

Our ideal candidate will have Accounts Payable experience, as well as demonstrated experience in a supervisory role consisting of leading, coaching and developing associates. Knowledge of accounting processes is a plus. Bachelor?s degree required.
