Supply Chain Manager, $11B Global Aviation Supplier

Background:   Our client is a strategic business group, $11B in revenue and 40,000 employees in over 125 domestic and international locations.  They are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing and distributing advanced electronic and engine systems as well as products and services to the commercial, defense and space industries.  This group is headquartered and position is based in Phoenix, AZ.

Manager, Supply Chain

 

Responsibilities:

 

Influence the planning and scheduling ? both strategic and tactical ? for all levels of the supply chain including finished products, components, and raw material. Direct all planning, customer delivery, capacity planning, material control, production activity, and point of use inventory reduction. This position is responsible for all inventory management functions including raw material receiving, storage, issuing and WIP activities. This position will coordinate with other functional areas to solve issues in a timely manner and facilitate the continuous improvement of processes.  A primary focus is to establish a linear plan and then linear deliveries to Assembly and Test. This position directs the activities of hourly and salaried employees. 
Other responsibilities include:

? Management of direct reports:  1 production specialist, 4-5 shop planners and 15-20 hourly material coordinators

? Establish and maintain accurate and visible due dates for all cells within the COE.

? Develop and maintain a feasible, level-loaded, aggregate supply plan for each cell and minimize variation in plan and schedule.

? Assist in setting priorities in common process areas for multiple requirements.

? Develop and implement strategies to eliminate late parts from suppliers.

? Lead efforts to design and implement improved processes to support appropriate material flow at all levels.

? Use Six Sigma tools to identify and prioritize projects and to coordinate department's process improvement activities.

? Be part of team that ensures accuracy of Item Master data, including lead times and order policy to ensure proper time-phasing of requirements.

? Head efforts to expand third party sales programs.



 Requirements:

 

Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience is required.  A minimum of 5 years related experience in manufacturing/supply chain industry and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

 

The successful, self-motivated candidate must have familiarity with MPS, MACPAC, MRP, Webwise, Inventory Control and Reduction, Production Activity Control and Procurement Processes for different manufacturing strategies; and Lean Manufacturing Strategies.  Six Sigma or Lean Green Belt certification is preferred.  Strong business acumen focused on financial performance and driving results with ability to interface with all levels of management...
