Job Summary:



Identify, qualify and manage suppliers to support manufacturing and achieve world-class performance. Achieve aggressive goals and drive continual improvements with the supply base in quality, delivery and cost. Visit suppliers and work closely with Engineering to ensure the suppliers and their products meet requirements. Build relationships with suppliers that encourage vendor investment into nLight?s growth and optimize supply base to achieve appropriate level of alternative sourcing for risk management. Develop new policies and procedures in the area of supply chain management. Qualify low-cost sources in China to reduce cost of goods dramatically.



A secondary, but important role, is that of materials planning. For some key product lines, manage the entire order fulfillment process including order entry and commit, material planning and production control, and preparing order for shipment. Serve as key interface with Manufacturing to oversee the order as it is processed through the manufacturing process. Serve also as key interface with Engineering to identify material for use on customer orders. Requires ability to understand engineering aspects of material selection. Communication skills are critical to success.



Required Experience:

- 3-5 years in supply chain management, materials management, and/or planning role

- Experience working with an ERP System

- Experience managing a global supply base- Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment a plus



Preferred:

- Fluency in Mandarin strongly preferred

- Master?s degree in Engineering or Business preferred

- Experience with ISO 9001:2000 requirements

- APICS/NAPM certification a plus



Required Skills:

- Excellent communication skills for resolving issues with internal and external customers

- Proficient in the use of MS Office software.



Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering
