Technical Specialist - Retirement Operations

These are the characteristics you need to be well suited for the current opening for a technical specialist at Edward Jones. Typically, the activities are project-oriented, you should be able to work independently yet strive to achieve success as a team. The ability to manage a variety of projects is required.

Responsibilities:
-Assist branches and other support departments by phone and wire with operational, technical, regulatory and procedural questions for Self-Directed Retirement products.
-The products are Traditional, SEP, Roth, and SIMPLE IRAs along with OwnerK, Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit Plan and Retirement Trusts.
-Communicate and ensure that IRS and firm policies, procedures, and regulations relative to processing Traditional, SEP, Roth, SIMPLE, OwnerK, Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit Plan, and Retirement Trusts are administrated within proper compliance.
-Required keeping up to date on IRS regulations and firm policies and procedures.
-Research and make adjustments to resolve discrepancies.
-Approve exception requests within appropriate uidelines.
-Assist all teams within department.
-Assist with projects and enhancements as needed.

Requirements:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Regulatory knowledge of Traditional, SEP, Roth, SIMPLE, OwnerK, Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit and Retirement Trust accounts is preferred.
-Must be proficient using reference materials and external resources.
-Excellent problem solving and organizational skills are required. At this time, the department hours are 7:00am - 7:00pm.
-The current openings consist of a 10:00am - 7:00pm schedule.
-As seniority grows, there will be opportunity to obtain earlier start times.
-A bachelor's degree and retirement experience is preferred.
