Position Summary:

Responsible for providing assistance to the facility Logistics Manager in the management of inbound/outbound Logistics; including, but not limited to management of common carrier or private fleet operations, uninterrupted product delivery to all customers, service levels improvements.



Major Responsibilities:

Follows and administrates all safety, environmental and regulatory guidelines and rules; uses required safety equipment. Oversees quality and cleanliness of the work areas and equipment

Maintains the highest standards for product quality and service.

Provides input to the employees performance evaluations.

Manages private fleet and common carriers to reduce in-bound transportation expense of finished goods, advertising and raw materials.

Assist in the implementation, and management control of (but not limited to) Warehouse Management Systems

Responsible for managing control of customer special tints (tinted on-site at location).

Provide input into incentive programs such as (but not limited to) Safety, Pay for Performance, Lump Sum, etc.

Actively participate in selecting personnel for authorized vacancies ensuring competency, qualifications and compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines.

Oversees training and compliant use of safety equipment, & standardized work procedures (including, but not limited to) ?HMIS? training and record keeping.

Responsible for fleet maintenance. Arranges driver safety meetings. Provides reports of fleet utilization.

Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal DOT regulations.

Prepares reports as requested and assists in setting and tracking performance goals for the Distribution Center team.



 Required Skills


A Bachelor?s degree is preferred.

Knowledge of management and company marketing/sales policies. It is expected that a qualified candidate for this position will have commensurate working experience in a service-oriented logistics environment.

Demonstrated ability in managerial and leadership skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team-based environment is essential

Knowledge of inventory management processes is expected.

Position requires demonstrated computer skills, as well as an aptitude to keep current with new technology

Previous supervisory experience is necessary

This position requires familiarity with transportation and D.O.T. regulations

Ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) some mid shift work, with potentiality of position moving to mid shift (11am -7:30pm) from 2nd shift.
