The American Diabetes Association seeks an Associate Director with three to five years of demonstrated experience in fundraising and event planning to identify, recruit, and cultivate individuals for involvement in the events and programs in the NW Arkansas area. This person is primarily responsible for achieving fundraising goals related to the Tour de Cure cycling event and Kiss a Pig Gala, as well as other programs by securing corporate sponsorships and teams; managing participant recruitment/fundraising; engaging area leaders to embrace the diabetes message; recruitment of volunteers. This person will also support other office initiatives. Candidate must be a team player and dedicated to the achievement of personal and office goals. The successful candidate is results oriented, with experience in working with and through volunteer groups to achieve desired outcomes. Sales experience, including cold calling and customer relationship building, is needed. Strong oral and written presentation skills are required. Must know how to close the deal, confirm mutual understandings, and manage volunteer participation to successful outcomes. Must be self-motivated, pay attention to detail, be able to manage multiple activities, and communicate to volunteers the vision of ADA to ensure successful events. Must have experience in working with people of diverse backgrounds.

* Bachelor's degree required
* Three to five years successful track record of fundraising and event planning
* Demonstrated sales experience strongly preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (donor contact database knowledge a plus)
* Access to a car as frequent local travel throughout the market is required
* Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends
* Ability to lift 25 pounds
