Benefits Administrator

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative functions associated with ongoing administrative activities, including annual enrollment activities for assigned outsourcing clients.  The position is based in Radnor, PA in Greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

 

Primary duties:Ongoing Administration:Updates all relevant plan design and plan administration documentationProcesses status updates on a weekly basis (New Hires, Terms, etc.) identified by Client via paper and/or data interface.Processes all electronic data files from client and to client for activity and payroll purposes.Updates eligibility with carriers. Review data errors/warning from carrier electronic data interfaces.Produces monthly client and/or carrier premium billing invoices.Monitors call escalation system and problem resolution.Monitors and tracks Waiver of Premium, Disability, etc. as part of the service offering.Annual/Open Enrollment ActivitiesProcesses all open enrollment activity and transmits to vendors and/or client via the agreed upon and appropriate method.Coordinates administrative aspects of Open Enrollment, including system testing.Ensures the accuracy and timelines of Post-Enrollment Confirmation statements and client enrollment activity reports.Participates and/or assists in the presentation of the client documentation sourcebook, if Call Center will be involved.Client ManagementPerforms quarterly billing auditsPerforms semi-annual carrier eligibility file audits for employee and dependent records.May act as Willis? contact for client?s Human Resource administrator and/or payroll department.Mentoring/Training ActivitiesProvides support and backup to Benefits Administrators and/or other support personnel.May assist Team Leader in providing training and other departmental needs.

 

Qualified Candidates must possess the following Skills/Competencies:Good verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills.Good organizational and time management skillsBasic benefits design and administration knowledge in health and welfare and retirement areas.Experience in benefits administration processing, particularly Health and Welfare plans processing.Knowledge about administration processing technologies.Experience interacting directly with clients on health & welfare or retirement administration.BA or BS degree preferable or equivalent work experience; minimum of 3-5 years experience in benefits administration.
