Beverage Category Manager - Chicago

This is an opportunity to join a large, well known international beverage company. This company has a very long history, a prestigious portfolio and is a major player in the adult beverage market. The Category Manager position will be based in Chicago, IL and have the following responsibilities:


Develop account plans with key account managers to ensure objectives are aligned with category and retailer business objectives.


Initiate retailer focused assortment, space and promotional analyses to improve category sales and support Key Account Managers and Channel Managers business objectives including distribution, feature activity, relationship building.


Team with Key Account Managers and Channel/Chain Managers at account presentations to maximize potential for category opportunity analyses.


Communicate category management corporate initiatives to Retail Sales Manager and General Managers, such as assortment, space planning, and promotion strategies.


Work with Category Management team to lead training of category management tools at the regional level.

4-5 years experience in a category management role with expertise and application of category management principles


Bachelors Degree in a related field


Willingness to travel is a must


Proficiency of space management software


Must have advanced Nielsen, IRI, in-store audit data, syndicated data or similar software usage and understanding on how to use the data effectively


Requires extensive experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookBeverage, liquor, spirits, beer, wine, alcohol, carbonated, juice, bottled water, Chains, Category Management, CPG, consumer insights, category management, channel specialists, chain sales, planograms, neilsen, iri, space management, category analyst
