Business Compliance/Brand Protection Manager

 

Scope of Role:

The Business Compliance/Brand Protection Manager is the key business compliance liaison with the Business Units, Marketing, Sales Finance and Legal Department. The Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal channel compliance in both marketing and sales programs and promotions. The goal is to be knowledgeable about current operations and to identify weaknesses and violations that influence or lead to grey market and counterfeit.

Duties and Responsibilities:



The individual will be a part of a world-wide team addressing the 3Com Business Compliance processes. As a member of the team, he/she will strive for global optimization for compliance adherence across all pricing and product functions.

This person will be proactive in identifying new areas and ways to improve 3Com's strategy for managing channel compliance, grey market and counterfeit prevention.

The function works very closely with the company?s Corporate Security, Internal Audit, Finance and Legal departments on identifying compliance violations through a variety of means including audits, investigations and data analysis. The individual then manages and administers the enforcement action against violators and makes appropriate recommendations to various internal departments to reduce the risks of future violations.

The individual will monitor discount policies and procedures, as well as proper distribution of products, by regular interaction with internal departments and external partner interactions.

The position will monitor and maintain awareness of US and International trade laws and rules as they effect the sale and distribution of 3Com products, and communicate those in the appropriate manner to all affected personnel.

The individual will coordinate meetings to review problem areas where discrepancies are found and identify where the appropriate team needs to focus their attention. He/she will issue reports to management on success rate and progress of actions.

The individual will gain the confidence of the necessary groups and educate them on the value of reducing grey market and counterfeit.

He/she will manage and coordinate with Corporate Security regional investigations of known or suspected transactions in violation of company compliance.

He/she will act as company representative and participate in industry associations addressing grey and counterfeit markets.

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience working in an international environment, with wide range of cross-functional duties involved with Sales, Finance, and/or Corporate Security.

- Channel sales background helpful.

- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and execute wide range of business techniques, including audit, sales, and investigations.

- Ability to maintain and monitor multiple databases to track compliance issues and utilize internal processes that track sales, commissions, rebates as well as product production, shipping, returns, serial number tracking.

- Must be familiar with fraud prevention, audit, and/or investigative techniques.

- Must be able to find creative solutions to complex compliance issues, and maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude.

Qualifications and Education:

- BA/BS in Business or Criminal Justice, or Audit related degree.

- CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or the ability to obtain certification a strong plus.

- Independent worker with sound judgement and strong decision making skills.

- Possible travel as required/necessary.
