Business Development Manager

SUMMARY

In this role, the BDM will research government contracting opportunities relevant to ASRC MS? core business areas.  The BDM will meet with, and market to Government Contract Officers and Program Executives, and engage in-house subject matter experts in order to develop strategies to win new business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

-Develop new business with targeted Federal Government Agencies.

 

-Specific activities include but are not limited to: strategic planning, customer relationship development and

 maintenance, industry partnership development and maintenance, opportunity development and pursuit.

 

-The candidate, in consultation with the VP of Business Development will oversee and manage their sales

  pipeline, and develop and execute a tactical sales strategy for the Practice Areas and /or the company?

  targeted Federal clients

Other Job Functions

The BDM will contribute to Proposal Development activities to include:

-Organizing and coordinating proposal response activities

-Providing the proposal response team with valuable customer and program insight

-Writing assignments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

5 years experience marketing and / or business development to US Government Civilian and/or DoD Agencies

 

Experience with one or more of the following agencies is desired: USDA, DOJ, EPA, DOL, IRS, NASA, DHS.

 

Translate customer requirements to a specific opportunity and capture strategy.

 

This position will require complete account management responsibility including defining customer requirements, researching customer budget viability for a project, and assisting in-house subject matter experts to build a winning solution to meet the customer?s business needs.

 

Excellent written and verbal skills, team oriented, flexible, innovative and able to perform well in an unstructured environment are all required.

 

Ideal candidate will have prior experience working on proposals to Federal government clients; contributing to the writing and review of the document.

 

Bachelor's Degree.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Position will be based at our Greenbelt, MD facility.
