Cabinet Designer

I. Accountability and Scope

 A. The Cabinet Designer reports to the Division Manager and or Sales Manager as determined by the Division Manager.

 B. The primary functions of the Designer are Kitchen Design, production of pricing for customer proposals and reconciliation of pricing for repeat models.

 

II. Functions

 A.  Kitchen Design is primarily accomplished using blueprints obtained by the sales staff or from builders that come to our office.  The Planit autograph CAD program is used to produce electronic designs.

 B.  Pricing is ascertained by applying approved multipliers to list prices generated by the Planit-Autograph program.

 C.  Proposals are generated using an ACCESS spreadsheet showing multiple alternative styles, up to 10 or more, and multiple options or upgrades for the same model.

 D.  Master Proposals are maintained for each major tract customer by model type.  Some models have multiple kitchen elevations and it is possible to have 100 or more Master proposals for a single tract builder. 

 E.  Designer redraws the model using the Master as the base, prepares the model for cabinet ordering and modifies or reconciles the pricing based on the specific selection of styles, options, and upgrades.

 F.  The designer sends the model specific price proposal to the customer for a PO.

 

III.  Personality and Knowledge Dimensions

 A.  Organizing skills are required to handle the volume of bids and daily ordering of cabinets.

 B.  High Work Standards and Dependability is imperative.

 C.  The ability to work with little supervision is necessary.

 D.  Attention to Detail and Follow up.

 E.  Technical skill on CAD kitchen design programs, specifically Planit- Autograph.

 F.  Literate on Excel and Word.  Knowledge of ACCESS is a plus.
