Description
The Corporate Workers Compensation department, located in Pleasanton, CA. has an opening for a Corporate Occupational Health Nurse.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide clinical services including medical triage, first aid treatment and record keeping.
Provide crisis management assistance with referrals to appropriate resources.
Provide routine health consultation and education.
Conduct case management for occupational and/or non-occupational illness/injury.
Coordinate return to work activities consistent with FEHA and ADA requirements.
Work with Corporate Benefits, Safety and other departments to develop/implement health and wellness programs.
Manage medical surveillance programs in accordance with local, state and Federal regulations.
Supervise, hire and mentor staff as program develops.
Develop occupational health policy and procedures promoting health maintenance, prevention of illness and injury.
Develop and manage ergonomics program as part of prevention program.
Develop and lead an emergency response team of employees trained in basic first aid and CPR to assist in emergencies
Travel Requirements: To Corporate or Division locations as requested; To industry training programs within the division on a quarterly basis; Bi-monthly meetings with industry leaders and research groups.
Required Skills
Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:
Licensed registered nurse in the state of California with current active license.
BSN strongly preferred
Certification in one of the following: COHN-S, CCM, CRRN or equivalent.
Minimum five years of professional clinical practice - Ortho, Rehab, ICU /ER, or Occupational Health with 2- 3 years in an occupational based role.
Must have current certification and ability to perform CPR.
Knowledgeable of medical and disability case management practices.
Knowledge of employment benefits (ADA, FMLA, state disability legislation, LTD, SDI, group health benefits) and how they interact with workers compensation benefits.
Experience with health survey and data analysis for identifying disability management needs.
Proficient in various electronic record- keeping systems and Microsoft Office software.
Successful experience in conflict management and negotiations.
High degree of initiative and eager to adapt to change.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated team building and time management skills.
