Database Developer/Programmer

This position works on the IT information systems team that is responsible for the support of the university administrative applications; develops project plans including design specifications; collaborates with university departments concerning requirements; evaluates new technologies and development tools; assists in establishing and maintaining standards for university enterprise development.

 

Required qualifications include Bachelors degree, preferably in computer science; 2 years relevant experience; current knowledge of industry software and hardware technologies; demonstrated programming and debugging skills; demonstrated database design skills; ability to provide individual and group training; high level of proficiency in MS SQL Server 2000, MS Access/VBA, SQL; VisualBASIC, C#, or strong object oriented development background; demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and project a positive image; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job. Desired qualifications include specialized training in database/web integration; familiarity with COM object development, .NET framework, DB2, AIX, Windows 2000/2003 Administration, XML, ASP; familiarity with software design methodologies; project-planning skills.
