Director Business Development

Amadeus is the chosen technology partner for providers, sellers, and buyers of travel. The company provides distribution, IT and point-of-sale solutions to help its customers adapt, grow and succeed in the fast-changing travel industry. Customer groups include travel providers (airlines, hotels, car rental companies, railway companies, ferry lines, cruise lines, insurance companies and tour operators), travel sellers (travel agencies) and travel buyers (corporations and travelers). Solutions are grouped in four solution categories ? Distribution & Content, Sales & e-Commerce, Business Management and Services & Consulting.

 

Position:
This is a start-up position which plans, develops, and executes Consulting and IT Services strategic and commercial plans for both traditional and non-traditional customers in order to achieve target revenues, focusing on the Central America & Caribbean Markets in order to achieve target revenues. This involves identifying customer needs, defining scope, estimating labor, technology and capital resources, measuring and reporting performance, and marketing and selling the identified solution.  Selling can occur through the efforts of the incumbent or through his/her coordinating with the sales staff who have distribution responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:
1.Performs economic and market research directed at the industry and specific businesses that are potential development opportunities; performs competitive analyses.

2.Develops new business sales opportunities which complement existing offerings.  Monitors and analyzes product lines to help determine optimal strategy.  Develops business plans and formulates strategies for both new and existing businesses.

3.Builds strong working relationships with the regional traditional sales team in order to gain market penetration and market recognition of the new offering within the existing and potential customers.

4.Responsible for the systematic and thorough documentation of all work performed which includes all policy and procedural guidelines.  Responsible for investigating business process parameters that describe actions, trends, performance, readiness, capability, output, service, cost and quality.  This involves gathering information through interviews, measurements, tests and observations from both inside and outside the organization.

5.Responsible for project management and administration, including determining the direction of the Business Development Area as well as how the start up and implementation of the project will occur.  Responsible for the budgeting, project cost-benefit analysis, scheduling, and resource allocation.

 

Requirements:

Work Experience:
10 - 15 years management experience the travel industry including:
?Knowledge of different market segments and requirements with emphasis on ability to integrate technical solutions into corporate business plans.
?Knowledge of state of the art hardware and network components.

Abilities & Skills:
?Bilingual (English and Spanish) required (verbal and written proficiency)

Education:
Bachelor?s Degree with a focus on Computer Science and Business.
Master?s Degree with focus in IT and/or Consulting Sales preferred.
