Director, Construction - Seattle Division #S70-06r (#S70-06r)

Description


The Seattle Division?s Construction & Design Department, located in Bellevue, Washington, has an opening for a Director, Construction.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with Real Estate, Marketing, and Retail Operations departments to plan the Division?s annual new store and remodel capital expenditure program.
Directly manage Construction and Maintenance staff and indirectly manage the Design and Equipment Procurement staff.
Review and approve project appropriations, cost estimates, bids, contracts, and invoices.
Prepare and maintain annual new store, remodel, and maintenance capital expenditures budgets.
Enforce adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
Work with Retail Operations to set budgets and manage maintenance expenditures.
Travel required 10%.



 Required Skills


Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:
4-year college degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
10 plus years experience in all phases of supermarket design, construction management, maintenance, equipment, purchasing, and refrigeration.
3-5 years management experience.
Proven ability to develop and meet project estimates, budgets, and schedules.
Able to meet deadlines and manage large construction program.
PC knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and able to learn job specific custom software applications.
High degree of initiative, able to work with upper management, and must be results oriented.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
