Safeway Inc., located in Pleasanton, California, has an opening for a Director, Operations


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develops, coaches and leads field operations team in support of business objectives and Safeway Group growth strategy.
Provides strategic direction on operational systems including information technology, food production, restaurant start-ups and openings.
Assesses business results and industry trends to provide strategic direction on product development and marketing initiatives.
Work with HR on training development curriculum, hiring practices, and roll out of training and succession planning programs.
Ensures all company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to and executed within the initial guidelines.
Partners with Financial Planning & Analysis on development of restaurant budgets and group annual operating plans.
Accountable for financial and operational P&L of company store locations.
Leads operations support team on establishing product procurement programs and distribution on new item logistics.
Provides leadership direction on key metrics and programs in coordination with culinary development and marketing teams for unit level accountability.
Communicates and implements operations strategy through effective business planning and performance management at restaurant and support levels.
Works closely with Corporate Real Estate on construction, licensing, and ongoing site selection modeling.
Travel Requirement: 20 ? 30%

Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:

4 year degree (Business Marketing- MBA a plus) or equivalent industry experience
6-10 years restaurant or foodservice industry experience in product development, marketing or operations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and partnering skills
Proven track record in managing budgets while delivering under aggressive timelines
Strong ability to lead teams whiling achieving results
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking skills and partnering skills
An in depth understanding of health and safety, food hygiene, licensing, alcohol beverage service and employment laws
