Director of Electrical Engineering

Job Description: Solectron Corporation is seeking Director of Electrical Engineering in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC to manage the Electrical Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) in North America (US & Canada) and Guadalajara. The Director of Electrical Engineering will provide Leadership and Management of the Electrical Engineering COE resources to achieve:

. Customer satisfaction - by executing electrical designs projects that meet or exceed customer expectations. (Metric Customer score card)
. Segments business goals - by executing electrical design projects within budget, schedule and meeting technical requirements.
. Support to other Solectron functions.

The forecasted COE staffing is expected to be 22 to 35 electrical design engineers and detailers in North America and 80 in Guadalajara. Keys deliverables include:

. Successful execution of electrical design projects and the delivery of the design data packages and prototype hardware that meet or exceed customer expectations.
. Meeting all schedules and budget requirements.
. Leverage the design effort into production contracts, and improve factory profit margin


The Electrical Director will oversee an annual budget of $7M, having the following resource and project management responsibilities:

Project Management (Execution); Planning; Scheduling and Budgeting.
. Technical Management of the Detail Electrical Designs including:
. Detail Requirement
. Design Quality
. Design Cost (Recurring)
. Electrical Design Data Package
. Validation and Verification
. Configuration/Change Control
. Development of Electrical Design Tools and Processes
. Operation Support
. Site leadership support

Requirements:

This position requires a BSEE, MSEE or MBA, with 10 years of electrical design management experience in electrical design and development of electronic products/system.
5 years project management, where the following attributes has be successfully demonstrated:
