Director of Quality Assurance, Media Application Platform Services (2316)

Description

The Media Appilcations Platform Services Team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director to lead the Quality Assurance team. The succsessul candidate must be a blend of hands on technincal expertise and strong team management. This person will oversee the quality assurance and deployment of RealNetworks' world class digital media applications platform. The candidate will serve a critical leadership rolls in RealNetwork's Platform Services team. This is both a technical and management position.

Experience with testing technology and methodologies is critical. The candidate will have an opportunity to demonstrate insights into complex multi-tier Internet applications and to direct the efforts of a QA team towards the areas which need most attention. A background in Internet technologies is a must. Candidate must bring a strong background in software process and have experience managing complex projects through their entire lifecycle.

Experience managing quality assurance teams, from both a personnel and technical level, is essential. The candidate will lead of group of up to twenty quality assurance engineers and managers. Experience managing highly skilled teams in fast paced environments is crtical.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum:
?Detailed technical knowledge of multitier internet systems. Hands on experience with commerce and content oriented systems.
?Experience testing large-scale, database driven websites
Strong grasp of Internet technologies including HTTP, HTML, JSP and Java.
?In depth understanding of distributed systems and how to evaluate performance and stability across these systems.
?Refined intuitive and analytical feel for system architecture.
?Detailed knowledge of databases and performance.
?Deep experience with load, stress, black box and white box testing
?Strong background in Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC)
?Outstanding organization skills.
?Excellent communicator

Preferred:
?Experience with Sarbannes-Oxley and other IT governance programs.
?Working knowledge of Mercury and Radview load testing suites.
?Working knowledge of Mercury automation testing suites (Quick Test Pro).

Education, Certification, and/or Training:
Minimum:MS Computer Science or related field

Preferred:Phd Computer Science or similar related engineering/analytical field

Experience:
10 years experience in a mult-tier, high-volume internet or similar business technical environment
5 years experience managing teams of at least 10 people.
Preferred:
15 years experience
