Director of Sales - Consumer Products Manufacturer

Position Title: Director of Sales


Function:  Direct the sales organization for company’s home décor product line


Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Marketing


Mission:  Manages sales activities of organization by performing the following duties, through inside and outside sales representatives.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Develops and implements strategic sales plans to achieve corporate sales goals.

Generates sales forecasts on a timely basis.

Prepares market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing, discount rates and product innovations.

Directs hiring, training, and performance evaluations to develop and manage sales force.

Directs retail channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals along with quarterly reviews.

Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and merchandising and advertising techniques and practices.

Represents company at trade association meetings to promote brands. Manages trade show budget.

Delivers sales presentations to key retrial chains in coordination with sales representatives and sales managers.

Analyzes and controls expenditures of sales department to conform to budgetary requirements.

Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

Prepares annual sales budgets.

Reviews all sales analysis reports and takes appropriate corrective actions.


QUALIFICATIONS:


· Undergraduate degree required, Marketing or Business desired


·   7+ years of sales and sales management experience in consumer products


· Experience selling to major retail chains


· Ability to develop formal strategic sales plans
