Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance in all federal, state and local health and safety laws as they relate to the Markham, WA facility. This position will also play a key leadership role in developing and implementing cutting edge safety programs to help us reach our goal of being an injury free work environment. Coordinates compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws along with the Companys Project Engineer and is responsible for all security of the facility. Finally, this position will be responsible for all safety training within the plant.



The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Safety Management or equivalent and must have a minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably from the food/beverage arena. Experience in safety training; both one on one and in a group setting is required. Candidates should have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, good communication, strong computer skills, the ability to prioritize work and excellent organization skills.
