Research Specialist-
Payments Team-
Economic Research Department



The Specialist will contribute to the research and public policy output of the team and play a leadership role in organizing conferences on strategic issues facing the payments industry. The team?s research is aimed at financial market participants, policy-makers and academics through Federal Reserve, academic and trade publications. Superior analytical, writing and verbal communication skills are required to conduct and present research. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, thrive with minimal day-to-day supervision and meet tight deadlines.



Job Description:
Takes lead role in conference design, planning and logistics.
Acts as liaison to payments industry and keep abreast of regulatory and technological developments.
Manages and leads projects for Bank or System management, including project plan development,
Provides analysis and opinions on policy issues and their implications on strategic and economic issues.
Develops a variety of content that aimed at different audiences with varying levels of content complexity.
Participates actively and enthusiastically on projects led by economists.

Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience as noted below; major in economics, business, finance, or public policy preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of industry or research experience. 3-4 of direct experience preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Exceptional project management skills
Able to work on multiple projects at one time
Able to develop relationships across departments and Reserve Banks
Excellent knowledge of business practices and statistical methods
