POSITION PURPOSE


This is an entry level opportunity for our Roseville location.


We currently have an opening for a Firmware test/customer support engineer to work on existing/next generation iSCSI/TOE controllers.


This individual will participate in the product development through introduction to release.


This would include the development of tests, executing test plans, documenting results, lab installation of iSCSI devices, handling customer calls, duplication of issues, and customer satisfaction.


Requires experience in programming, understanding of multi-tasking operating systems, experience with customer interaction and ability to utilize good debug/problem analysis techniques.


Prior experience with customer support, storage environments and applications, SCSI, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, logic analyzer, or protocol analyzer a plus.


Must have ability to work with ASIC and software engineers in a small team environment.


Assists and performs research, test and/or development assignments within given product parameters in the testing and/or support of new or existing iSCSI/TOE products and associated equipment.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


Conducts tests to verify the functionality and accuracy of iSCSI products


Develops design corrections, performs maintenance functions to correct errors found in test procedures or scripts.


Performs technical work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.


Establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of all work.


May assist with functional definition, design specifications, or technical documentation for both the test and development.


Ensures fair and equitable treatment of all employees by complying with company Affirmative Action goals,programs and policies.


Performs related and other duties as required.



NATURE AND SCOPE


Be able to develop and test work from complex test plan/procedures.


Write and/or assist writing new test plans/procedures.


Set up and operate standard or special test equipment to analyze PCI/network/iSCSI related problems.


Assist in test effort of iSCSI/TOE HBAs.


Prepare verbal and written reports of tests and work performed.


Recommend new methods or changes in test methods or equipment to analyze PCI/network/iSCSI related problems.


Perform related duties as required.



 Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training
