Environmental Health & Safety Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Develop, implement, and administer policies and programs to establish and promote safety, environmental compliance and healthy working conditions within the company. Ensure that company facilities and practices are in compliance with government and corporate safety and environmental regulations, and minimize exposure to environmental hazards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Manage SDS's corporate environmental, health and safety programs
-Administer the Environmental Compliance Programs at all Sybron Dental
 Specialty sites, to include hazardous waste management, waste water
 discharge, and air emission permits.
-Provide on-going training to appropriate personnel.
-Maintain and update all Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) books in
 compliance with OSHA regulations.
-Review all ESAR forms from all manufacturing and distribution facilities.
-Prepare and submit governmental mandated reports.
-Conduct and manage environment, and health/safety audits.
-Audit facility practices to ensure compliance with company programs and
 state/federal occupational safety/health environmental regulations.
-Promote company wide safety and health awareness through internal communications.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

-Bachelor's degree in a technical and related field.
-5 - 7 years experience.
-Experience in a manufacturing environment and 1 - 2 years at a senior or
 management level
-Bachelor?s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental and
 Occupational Science or in any other related field.
-Must have 5 years of safety and environmental experience in a
 manufacturing/industrial environment.
-Thorough and working knowledge of safety policies, practices, and
 procedures and hazardous material handling and emergency response
 procedures.
-Experience with manufacturing and distribution practices and procedures.
-Strong communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to
 communicate effectively at all levels.
-Ability to analyze date, convey finding and instruct on how to proceed.
-Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be teamwork oriented.
-Must be proficient in using MS office applications.

-Strong communication skills.
-Ability to analyze data and develop corrective action plans with site
 management

SPECIAL QUALIFICTIONS AND/OR REMARKS:

-Certifications in fields of EHS a plus
