Environmental Health & Safety Represenative

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.  Administers and maintains corporate safety and health programs to provide a safe working environment for California associates and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations defined by CAL-OSHA.

2.  Administers and maintains corporate environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations defined by the EPA & DOT.

3.  Oversees the administration of the worker?s compensation program, including communication with providers and insurance carrier.

4.  Leads accident and injury investigation team.

5.  Provides training on all CAL-OSHA required and company-mandated safety and health training.

6.  Maintains all local safety and maintenance records, including documentation, facility inspection records, operating permits, accident files and training records.

7.  Maintains working relationship with facility management by communicating and involving them in the safety and facilities program.

8.  Develops and maintains safety awareness program, to include incentive program.

9.  Conducts regular safety/facility audits to detect existing /potential accident & health hazards and quality of maintenance worked performed.

10. Consults with all departments on process changes to ensure that all safety and health regulations are within compliance.

11. Assists Facilities Department with project development and management.

12. Assists Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety with company wide safety, environmental and workers compensation projects as directed.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor?s degree in Life Sciences, Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

? 3 years of related experience

? Demonstrated knowledge and experience with CAL-OSHA safety programs, workers compensation, labor & environmental regulations (EPA, DOL & DOT)

? Training & instructional skills

? Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and presentation

? Able to establish working relationships with others at all levels

? Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

? Willingness to travel

? Strong PC skills
