The Global Program Manager will coordinate hardware and software product development globally to create a common program management process and establish and drive a global integrated view to HVAC, Refrigeration and Lighting automation product developments for centers located in Cleveland, Ohio and India.

 

The Global Program Manager will establish Program plans where all inter-location dependencies are assessed and managed to ensure that the integrated system is released in a planned fashion.  He/She will ensure that the disciplines of the Project Management Institute are uniformly instituted in all product development centers by adopting and improving existing best practices.  The Global Program Manager will ensure that appropriate planning is done for scope, schedule, quality, staffing, risk & opportunity, subcontract and budget management.  This will be done through detailed partnership with product development and  program managers in the regions. The Global Program Manager will be accountable for the predictability and continuous improvement of HVAC programs.

 

Specific responsibilities will include: Build robust processes for controlling multiple projects and build a release train process Ensure risk management is in place Implement tools to support processes Partner with Architects and Engineering and Marketing Leaders to ensure programs are set up for success. Drive high quality projects to completion on schedule and within budget.

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will be seasoned in global Program Management in large, multi-year programs, preferably in a Software and/or Hardware product development environment.  Experience with a stage-gate review process for new product introduction is desirable along with experience with modern development processes, Design for Six Sigma, SEI for Software or other key processes.

 

We are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience as a change leader who will instinctively anticipate points of failure and develop plans to mitigate risk.  He/She will be a charismatic, assertive leader who inspires team commitment to execution and enjoys managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.  The successful candidate will possess:

 BS degree in engineering 5 years or more experience managing projects within a Product Life Cycle environment.



Project Management experience is essential. PMI Certification preferred. Must be comfortable with managing more than one project at a time.  Proficiency with software tools MS-Project, Excel, Word. A strong understanding of project management essentials, risk management, Product Life Cycle processes, and New Product Introduction is required. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills are required. Skills in leading teams of engineers to accomplish difficult technical objectives. Comfortable processing and communicating issues and escalating when necessary. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as resource loading, critical path management, tracking project actual vs. planned costs and resources. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze project teams and recommend methods to enhance performance. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with global design and manufacturing centersAbility to travel to India approximately once per quarter, 7-10 day duration
