IMPORT SUPERVISOR
Hartz Mountain, America?s leading manufacturer and marketer of quality pet products, is currently seeking a results oriented individual to join our team of dedicated and successful professionals, located in Secaucus, NJ.
SummaryWork with U.S. Customs to ensure that the necessary paperwork is completed and Hartz is in full compliance with government regulations prior to allowing imported items into the United States. Supervisor a staff of 3 employees.
Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to)Assign HTS numbers to new code requests. Updating as necessary.Review changed liquidationsMonitor FDA import alerts dailyMonitor FDA import detentions dailyMonitor USDA posts for avian flu and other areas of concern on a daily basis NAFTA
1. Review NAFTA certificates and maintain master listingResponsibility for obtaining USDA permits for new items and new vendors:
1. Review manufacturer?s processes and obtain any necessary information
2. Prepare application and submit to the USDA. Follow up for permit.
3. Respond to vendor inquiries
4. Respond to USDA questions regarding the application process
5. Scan and send permit to the vendor. Then create permit file. Add to USDA permit check list and assign renewal dates.
6. Apply for any renewals and amendments
Qualifications5 plus years experience in Imports. Preferably in manufacturing.Strong background in USDA, FDA, and NAFTA rules and regulationsStrong experience with US CustomsStrong experience in participating in a US Custom?s auditFamiliar with C-TPAT requirementsStrong analytical, customer service, operational and organizational skillsStrong communication skillsAbility to effectively supervise a team of 3 individualsAbility to work with other teamsStrong Computer Skills (Microsoft and Oracle)
