Interview and consult with various business areas to understand their business processes and define strategy, content, and features for the design of the portal IA

Analyze audiences and their information and functional needs

Analyze and review new content, forms, and information being migrated to the portal intranet and organize according to department, job, and role

Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience

Design intuitive portal navigation schemes and flows

Enhance and improve the current portal/intranet information architecture, navigation, and taxonomies

Follow standard visual standards and guidelines

Follow standard portal style guide and web style sheets

 

Required Skills:

Skills Required:

3+ years experience as a Information Architect or similar experience

Demonstrated ability to create IA for complex websites, taxonomy frameworks and content structures

Proficiency and experience with information architecture-related software tools (Illustrator, Visio, Photoshop, MS Office, Acrobat). Ideally, we would prefer they bring their own tools/software with them on their laptop

Exceptional communication skills

Hands-on experience and knowledge of User Centered Design Principles and Practices, resulting from multiple client design engagements

Good leadership and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented

Special Qualifications:

Experience needed:

2-5 years relevant work experience

Experience working on large, complex sites such as an enterprise portal/intranet with an excess of 75,000 users, or large, corporate internet web sites

Experience conducting user research/interviews and translating into design decisions
