LEAN Champion
Description:
The LEAN Champion, Business/Function will act as a process improvement leader within a business/function. Engages the senior leadership in that business/function to actively drive and participate in messaging, focus and importance of LSS activity. Creates the environment that encourages active process improvement discussion in the context of business goals. Identify the key breakthrough focus areas.
This individual will identify opportunities, scope projects, and forecast resources to achieve productivity, quality and service improvement targets for the business. Partner with the business to create the vision of LEAN Six Sigma for the business, region, plant and function. Define the path, goals and timing with measures to implement LEAN Six Sigma across the organization. Collaborates with other LEAN Champions across the organization to share knowledge and best practices.
With the business, identifies and selects projects balanced to address business priorities, financial improvements and customer issues. Creates necessary business alliances to eliminate barriers to the projects' success. Ensure that the project recommendations implemented are sustained and evaluated for ongoing process improvement.
Recruit, select, train, assign, direct and manage the activities of the LEAN Masters, Black Belts and Green Belts who report to the LEAN Champion. Ensure they are employing prescribed LEAN Six Sigma methodologies and techniques.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Business, Quality, Engineering or other functional area.
Minimum 7-10 years experience within specific business/functional area; familiarity with product line, process, market and technology
Demonstrated leadership capability, change leader and driving project success individually and through their direct and indirect reports
Competency Requirements:
Interacts with the global team members well and is a team player
Understands and demonstrates how to tie business, functional and operational demands and enabling technologies that can help drive quality process improvements for the benefit of the business.
Able to communicate effectively through teaching and training others, while offering mentoring and help to other LEAN Six Sigma professionals, as well as non-LEAN Six Sigma employees and leaders for project success.
Considers all relevant issues and stakeholders when making decisions.
Evaluates all factors and alternatives before making decisions.

Global business proficiency and understanding
o Black Belt and / or Lean Master certified or willingness to obtain Black Belt certification through completion of a $250K benefits project.
