Leadership/Performance Coach - Kansas City

The Extraordinary Performance Coach is critical to the performance and continued success of the Kansas City facility and the Insulation Systems Business (ISB). Reporting to the ISB Division Coaches Team Leader, this leadership position is accountable for functioning at high levels of effectiveness at both the ?hands-on? and the strategic levels. This position is also a key member of the KC Leadership Team.

As a leader within Owens Corning, an individual must demonstrate experience at being ? and holding others ? accountable for working safely while providing appropriate resources to ensure incident-free operations. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience at driving for a vision of zero injuries, zero defects and step-change productivity by ensuring alignment with and supporting the Company?s vision and values.

Our Kansas City, KS Insulation plant employs 445 employees and is looking for an ?Extraordinary Performance Coach?. If selected you would engage the teams across our plant, distribution and support areas to achieve our Critical Outcomes (core targets) for 2006 success. These include achieving an injury free workplace, significant productivity and volume gains through continuous improvement efforts and improvement in the engagement of our workforce to achieve these. Our Kansas City plant manufactures a variety of residential insulation products. Kansas City?s areas of focus include the safe production of high quality product to deliver value to our customers. Focus on achieving zero injuries and continued improvement in their employee and union relations is a key element for success in 2006. The Kansas City facility is best known for its wide array of products produced, the excellent stability in volume produced and the year over year improvements in safety.

The Extraordinary Performance Coach is responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of projects directly designed to eliminate waste and improve engagement both at the Kansas City Plant as well as sharing these best practices across the Division. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage the workforce, create a culture that safely and efficiently optimizes equipment and focuses on producing high quality products at the lowest possible cost. Relationship building with plant leadership, employees and our labor unions is critical to the success of this position.

Business partner with the Plant Leader and Human Resources Leader, with shared outcomes to deliver business results
Professional coach to the plant leadership team to significantly raise the bar in terms of engagement, coaching for success and productivity improvements
Powerful voice in targeting gaps and opportunity for improvement in the way people interact with the machines
Provide targeted coaching to the front line leaders
Ensures the delivery of the core communication process in partnership with the KC Human Resources team
Focuses on developing the capability of the leadership team to deliver the critical outcomes

3-4 Year College/University Degree

EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES/LANGUAGES:



Experience:


Minimum of 5 years of leadership/coaching/development experience
Business knowledge and experience that has delivered exceptional results
Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and/or Lean Manufacturing skills is preferred

Languages:


English required

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis
