Major Subcontracts Manager (2065)

Carlsbad, CA (coastal San Diego area)

 

Responsibilities:

This position offers an opportunity for a leader to creatively to expand ViaSat?s emerging subcontract management function for all Government business. Identify and articulate key deal points and provide inputs on strategies, risk assessment, acquisition strategies, and risk mitigation for subcontracts and teaming agreements. Effectively negotiate subcontracts that support business area goals, communicate with senior management on subcontractor issues and grow the subcontracting function to meet ViaSat?s expanding needs. Management of a variety of Government and commercial subcontracts in support of our business areas is required. Candidate will:
? be results oriented with the ability to work effectively with Program Managers and with a team
? negotiate and draft teaming agreements to support new business initiatives
? provide proposal support including market research, assisting with the preparation of Statements of Work, creating and issuing RFP?s, and performing proposal and price/cost analyses
? prepare R&D and production FFP, CP and T&M subcontracts, long term ordering agreements and supporting documents in accordance with the FAR/DFARS or commercial terms

 

Requirements:

This position requires Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of eight years of professional related experience with a proven ability to successfully negotiate and manage major/critical subcontracts.

This position requires excellent written/verbal communications skills and analytical skills. Computer proficient, knowledge of FAR/DFAR, UCC and DCMA procurement audit compliance required. Advanced degree or certification is a plus.

The successful candidate must have the ability to effectively assess the strategic aspects of subcontract formation including the identification of key risks, opportunities, and alternate acquisition approaches.

 

The successful candidate must have excellent written/verbal communications skills and analytical skills; computer proficient on Word, Excel, and Power Point; experience with multitasking, work prioritization and problem resolution; and Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and DCMA procurement audit compliance.
