Manager, Safety & Industrial Hygiene

Assists in the management, development and implementation of Kelly's worldwide safety and industrial hygiene programs designed to minimize the severity and frequency of workplace injuries and illnesses. This position supports all domestic and international divisions, provides internal and external customer consultation; provides education, training and overall safety and industrial hygiene service within Kelly; identifies and analyzes business safety risks; develops and implements safety strategies and programs; performs quantitative analysis of safety and workers' compensation issues as well as recommends and implements solutions; manages problem account reviews, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements change; serves as subject matter expert for safety and industrial hygiene.

'Collaborates with divisional management in the creation and implementation of safety strategies, planning for the identification and correction of safety concerns at customer locations.

'Assists division, region and field staff in decreasing workers' compensation losses and increasing profits by providing safety management consultation directly to internal and external customers to achieve business objectives.

'Performs/coordinates accident investigations and customer safety assessments to decrease/minimize company liability and losses.

'Develops and coordinates the implementation of State and Federal required safety and health programs within all divisions.

'Develops and improves safety policies and procedures, researches information on new trends and techniques for enhancing workplace safety, remains current on safety issues through on-going review of literature, surveys, research and education.

'Creates and conducts safety training and orientation programs to improve employee education and effectiveness, after identifying divisional needs.

'Compiles, tracks and trends extensive injury/illness data for entire corporation, reports findings and assists in the development of business unit-specific safety strategies.


Qualifications:
'Position requires a Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent and a minimum of 7-10 years of varied industrial safety and health experience.

'Certified Safety Professional desired.

'In depth knowledge of safety and health programs, policies, and prevention/intervention strategies.

'Ability to establish credibility with customers and work well with all level of management.

'Strong written/verbal communication, excellent organizational and time-management skills.

'Strong knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.

'Experience in contesting and abating regulatory citations.

'Strong analytical and computer skills.
