Manager, Strategic Business Development (Health Care)

General Statement of Duties: Directs the Retail enterprise in the new product development process for Alliance Data's credit services entry into Health Care. Leverages a background in the U.S. Health Care system to identify and prioritize key target users and their needs, forge alliances with partners and target users, and entrepreneurially lead the introduction and scale-up of early-stage new products and services. Works with top-level divisional executives to drive profitable new revenue growth.


Supervision Received: Works in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Marketing & Development and with general direction from the Chief Marketing Officer

Supervision Exercised: Directly manages at two+ department associates


Examples of Duties: (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all that maybe found in this job.)

Forges new alliances with target prospects to implement testing of new product concepts. Manages the sales prioritization for the product concepts. Works with the Sales force to conclude new agreements.

Determines the right number, type, and goals of experiments to maximize learning about customer aggregation points in the Health Care market.

Manages the branding and marketing execution for the product concepts in conjunction with the Marketing Communications team.

Identifies partners and develops partnership framework for offerings in the Health Care market.

Guides relationship management and market research in the Health Care market.

Identifies new product and service opportunities within the overall Health Care market.

Leads all cross-functional teams during new product development process in Health Care solutions.

Represents Alliance Data at industry events.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the structure, needs, and competitive makeup of the Health Care industry in the U.S. Understands the signals of market change, competitive battles and likely winners, and non-market forces (government).

Possesses a general management understanding of the key functions of marketing, technology, financial investment and return, operations and process management, and R&D.

Highly developed team leadership skills.

Comfort with the ambiguity of early-stage R&D yet confident in guiding that development.

Excellent communication and persuasion skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to effectively lead a cross functional team and/or direct professional colleagues who may be senior in tenure or status.

High resilience and constant initiative. Entrepreneurial spirit.

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of business experience managing and leading cross-functional growth and development teams. Five to ten years of Health Care business or consulting experience. BA/BS degree.


Desirable

- Relationships and contacts within targeted fields in Health Care.
- MBA or Masters in marketing is highly desirable.
