Marketing Channel Manager
Amadeus is the chosen technology partner for providers, sellers, and buyers of travel. The company provides distribution, IT and point-of-sale solutions to help its customers adapt, grow and succeed in the fast-changing travel industry. Customer groups include travel providers (airlines, hotels, car rental companies, railway companies, ferry lines, cruise lines, insurance companies and tour operators), travel sellers (travel agencies) and travel buyers (corporations and travelers). Solutions are grouped in four solution categories ? Distribution & Content, Sales & e-Commerce, Business Management and Services & Consulting.
Position:
This position?s purpose to reach the corporate sales and revenue objectives through the development, direction, and implementation of annual and long-range market strategies and programs for the Amadeus e-Commerce division in North America. This division includes the development of Amadeus portfolio of online booking, faring, and reporting products. These products are targeted towards Corporate customers as well as towards Airline & other travel suppliers, and travel agencies and travel management companies.
The Marketing Channel Manager (e-Commerce) will have the responsibility work closely with product development & management groups in North American and in Nice to compile all relevant product features, benefits, and differentiators and develop relevant packaging and messaging that addresses the North American customer requirements.
In addition, the Marketing Channel Manager will work closely with the sales and business unit leaders to define and prioritize customer segmentation. The Channel manger will be responsible to develop a comprehensive plan of marketing programs in line with the commercial objectives of the unit.
The Marketing Channel Manager will serve need to integrate fully into the commercial operations in order to assure awareness of customer requirements, market conditions, competitive offers and new entrants.
The Marketing Channel manager is also accountable for maintaining proactive and productive communication links with the global marketing organization to assure that North America programs encompass the global positioning and strategic directions.
Requirements:
1.Work closely with North American and Global product development and product management teams to develop benefit oriented value propositions for Amadeus e-Commerce solutions. Develop ongoing communication platforms and processes with Amadeus Sales organizations
2.Develop and enhance customer segmentation based upon the products feature/benefit offering, and overall Amadeus value proposition
3.Develop and deliver complete and comprehensive marketing programs targeted towards the customer segments to meet the commercial objectives of the channel.
4.Work closely with North American and Global market research groups on the development of complete profiles of key competitors, new entrants, and market trends as they affect the customer channel. Provide market and customer feedback to both the North American and Global organizations.
5.Communicate channel strategy and plans with internal departments (both in North American and Global). Develop strong working relationships with other marketing groups marketing communications and services group, sales, product management, public relations, technology, finance and other key internal & external stakeholders through regular formal communication and through informal communication as needed
Qualifications:
?7-10 years of sales and marketing experience with a background in the technology industry (travel industry experience is preferred)).
-Solid understanding of e-Commerce applications, business models, and technology
-Professional experience working with technology development and product management
-Strong analytic and strategic skills to assist in the development of value propositions and customer segmentation strategies
-Understanding of proven business-to-business marketing practices
?Ability to operate within various departments in both the North American and Global organization with little direct supervision.
?Ability to develop proactive marketing initiatives, to set vision and communicate this vision to both internal audiences and external audiences (including media and analysts)
?Strong verbal and written communication skills.
?Solid foundation in financial principles, budgeting, and expense management.
?Ability to handle and coordinate multiple projects while maintaining focus and vision.
?Ability to work and thrive under rapidly changing environments
Education:
BA/BS
MBA or applicable Master?s degree preferred.
Other considerations:
Position located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Frequent travel, both domestic and international.
Flexibility and adaptability required.
