Marketing Manager

JOB SUMMARY:  The goal of this position is to maximize the growth of GMCR?s on-the-go coffee business, with particular emphasis on convenience stores.  This marketing leadership role includes business analysis, development of strategy recommendations, development and implementation of customer and consumer marketing programs, management of coffee and allied product lines, and merchandising strategy. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Lead the development and implementation of national and regional strategies and programs to build GMCR?s on-the-go coffee business.

? Lead product mix strategy, including coffee, allied products, and hard goods.

? Serve as GMCR?s expert in consumer understanding of the on-the-go consumption occasion.

? Work closely with Sales and Marketing leadership to manage and optimize customer relationships, as well as to acquire new customers.

? Develop, implement, and track lead generation programs.

? Provide analysis of GMCR?s wholesale by-the-cup business and communicate this to guide Sales and Marketing decision-making.

? Provide leadership for channel merchandising strategy and implementation.

? Facilitate all interdepartmental and external work on such projects, keeping the team on task and delivering maximum value to our customers.

? Track projects and promotions against set objectives, analyze and evaluate success of the projects, and pursue path to optimization ? without significant guidance or supervision.

? Maintain detailed and easily accessible records of all meetings held, presentations given, and conversations related to projects.

? Generate demand signals for products and materials forecasts for projects and ensure operational support.

? Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

? MBA or equivalent experience.

? Solid understanding of marketing strategy and tactics.

? Prior experience with customer marketing, convenience stores, retail merchandising, product line management, and/or brand management.

? Prior experience working with a creative team and evaluating creative work.

? Outstanding organizational skills to ensure tight deadlines are met both internally and externally

? Ability to manage others, work autonomously and in a team environment, to get along with others and with management both internally and externally.

? Excellent communication skills, including written and presentation skills.

? Ability and enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and knowledge.

? Understanding of the specialty coffee market is a plus.

? Highly developed analytic and problem-solving skills

? Advanced data management, query, and Microsoft Office skills, especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

? Strong research, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills

?  Prior budget ownership and understanding of accounting principles

? Ability to get along with others

? Ability to be punctual

? Ability to follow instructions

?  Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures
