STARTING SALARY: $50,951 per year increases to $63,689 after 3 years.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Supervise Maintainers, Helpers and Apprentices doing maintenance, installation, inspection, testing, alteration, and repair of buses and other automotive vehicles and related bus shop equipment.
REQUIREMENTS: 5 years of full-time experience as a journeyman mechanic, at least 2 years supervising full-time mechanics; OR 4 years of experience plus graduation from a trade or vocational school or community college. All candidates must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience. You must posses either a Class B Commercial Driver's License valid in the State of NY with a passenger endorsement and no restrictions OR a learner?s permit for such along with a Motor Vehicle Driver's license valid in the State of NY.For other acceptable combinations of experience and education, see the Notice of Examination. NYC residency is not required. The ENTIRE filing package must be filled out CAREFULLY and COMPLETELY in order to be reviewed.
