New Account Representative

Job Responsibilities:


The Private Investors Operations team is looking for a New Account Representative to support the retail managed account business of MLIM, including Private Investors, Consults and Trust accounts.  Group functions include New Accounts, Account Reconciliation, Data Management and Billing.

 

The New Account Representative is responsible for the transition of new accounts into MLIM Private Investors and MLIM Consults.  This requires checking client contracts and information, securities and FA information.  Accounts must be accurately processed and released for trading within a designated timeframe.  The role also includes ongoing maintenance of the existing accounts to reflect client or account level changes and review and approval of client contracts for PI management.

 

Responsibilities:

Receive new accounts from the FA / client and ensure validity of processed information. 

Ensure fee schedules and requested discounts are appropriate, social concerns and client restrictions are updated, prior trades have settled and designated securities have been removed from account, deliver in securities that remain in the PI account, assign a portfolio manager and release the account to PM and Billing. 

Ongoing account maintenance to update for client or account level changes.

Effectively communicate across all business groups to resolve issuesQualifications:


Knowledge of the following systems helpful:  APL, Pacman, Charles River, Merrill Lynch mainframe, Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access & Internet Explorer). 

Good communications skills. 

Must be a team player. 

Must have a general knowledge of business operations. 

Good research and analytical skills are necessary. Detail oriented. 

Willing to work overtime and weekends when required. 

Undergraduate college degree.
