Online Merchandising Analyst

The Timberland Company is a $1.6 billion global company which designs, engineers and markets premiums quality footwear, apparel and accessories.  Timberland-branded products for men, women and children include premium boots, casual shoes, hiking boots and boat shoes, as well as inspired apparel and accessories built to withstand the elements of nature.  The Timberland PRO series provides work boots engineered to meet the demands of the professional tradesperson.  Our Outdoor Performance offerings include footwear and gear for the outdoor athlete.  We deliver our products primarily through Timberland stores, other specialty stores, better-grade department stores, concept shops and independent shoe stores across the globe. 

 

Responsibilities:

Lead and facilitate consumer-facing merchandising of men?s, women?s, kids?, custom boot and TimberlandPro collections on timberland.com to help drive average order value, units per transaction and total site revenue.  Analyze the ongoing performance of online merchandising plans.  Participate in creative and marketing concept meetings to identify and recommend appropriate product(s) to be featured in planned marketing campaigns, sales promotions and monthly site updates synchronized with Specialty stores.  Deliver a well-integrated merchandising story across marketing vehicles, such as online store feature stories, e-mail campaigns, online advertising campaigns, etc.  Use website analytics tools, such as SiteCatalyst, NetAcumen and Hitwise, to conduct regular analysis of product and collection productivity to identify trends and opportunities, and adjust merchandising strategy accordingly.  Create and maintain ongoing merchandising collections and site features such as site navigation and cross-sells, using web-based merchandising tools.  Communicate website merchandising plans to e-commerce team and Consumer Direct buying, planning & allocation teams.  Coordinate closely with merchandising analyst teammate, buyers and allocators to ensure inventory availability in advance of planned site updates, marketing campaigns and promotional events. Use website analytics tools to track out-of-stock rates on timberland.com, and work with allocation team to resolve inventory availability issues. Participate in line-close meetings and product presentations to get advance notice of forthcoming product lines; incorporate learnings into merchandising plans. Regularly review competitive landscape for merchandising features and trends as they relate to best practices for online merchandisers. Manage ongoing site optimization program, using 3rd-party technology to plan and execute A/B tests, declare ?winners?, measure impact and communicate results to team for insights and in-store use. Develop a cohesive strategy for site optimization that accommodates planned and ad hoc efforts.  Determine feasibility of proposed test campaigns.  Coordinate campaign setup and implementation with third-party vendor.  Track performance of tests.  Evaluate results, present key findings to e-commerce team, and incorporate learnings into future merchandising plans. Investigate and respond to customer service inquiries relating to site merchandising stories and product features.

 

Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.  Capability to readily learn website analytics software, A/B website testing program. 3+ years of experience in apparel and footwear merchandising or equivalent.  E-commerce experience preferred, not required. BA/BS in marketing, merchandising, business management or equivalent.
