PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Position Description:

Upper Mohawk, Inc. is seeking a candidate to work with the Administration for Native Americans (ANA).  The candidate will work closely with ANA grantees to provide guidance on community development projects, including:

1. Administer federal program grant projects including the review and

  evaluation of budget modifications, grant continuations, and no cost

  extensions.

2. Review budgets, objectives and work plans for discussion with

  prospective grantees.

3. Analyze and perform due diligence on grant applications and provide

  recommendations to ANA management.

4. Support ANA project panel review process.

5. Monitor and evaluate grantee performance.

6.. Provide assistance to grantees in the field

7. Communicate with grantees on project management concerns and

  required financial and administrative project reports.

Have experience with community development projects.Familiarity with grants.experience working with Native American or other distressed communities.General knowledge of established methods and techniques for federal projects/grants management in order to make recommendations and provide advice to grantees and management.General knowledge of Federal financial assistance practices and principles to administer community projects.Some experience in grants acquisition, management, budgeting and reporting.The successful candidate lives in the Washington, DC area or willing to relocate (relocation reimbursement is not offered).
