Principle Engineer - Medical Device

Responsibilities:


Coordinate and participate in projects relating to new Class III medical device products, cost reductions and problem solving of manufacturing issues. Must have hands on experience with technology transfers that progress from R&D to full scale productions. Responsible for acting as department technical expert in validations and qualifications. Interface with product development project leaders to ensure that the project teams are designing for manufacturability in the development phases of the project.


Other Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Interface with medical device product development project leaders to ensure that the project teams are designing for manufacturability in the development phases of the project.

Champions engineering support of Production Initiatives, Value Improvement Process, Strategic Activity Review projects, CAPA projects, and New Product introductions.

Participates in and influences Technology Development Process and Product Development Process project development activities.

Open to perfoming other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


The Principal Engineer is required to have a BS in engineering. Work related experience of ten plus years, with three of those years being with a medical device manufacturer in a cGMP and ISO environment. An additional five years of progressive manufacturing experience with familiarity in metal fabrication, plastic processing, injection molding and high volume manufacturing. Six Sigma training coupled with Class III medical device experience is a major plus.
