Product Quality Leader, GCS PBT

Description:
The Product Quality Leader will be a key member of the Global Communication Solutions (GCS) business within Avaya. The candidate will be responsible for quality aspects of the product development process.

The person will one of a small team and be located and aligned with each GCS business unit.

Analyze and improve existing Avaya product quality standards and practices. Including, but not limited to testing and reliability specifications.

Develop, communicate, and facilitate new quality practices throughout product development. Specifically design for reliability and manufacturability practices. In addition, monitor products for adherence to appropriate environmental compliance.

Key cross-functional interface for quality aspects of product design and development. Interface with customer and service teams in order to translate voice of the customer (VOC) into GCS organizations.

Manage and audit performance of contract engineers and third party vendors. Drive timely root cause analysis (RCA) and design team feedback process. Champion availability and reliability monitoring of Avaya products.

Monitor and track product performance and develop design feedback process and metric system. Represent Quality on one or several portfolio business teams.

Must be able to make decisions to support portfolios and objectives. Use advanced Six Sigma experience, skills, tools and acts as an expert resource to Black Belts, champions, and company executives.

Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management.

Anticipates and identifies complex business needs. Recommends solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications:
Typically requires 7 - 10 years experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Must be a Certified Black Belt with a minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in that role. Must be a technical leader and advanced user of Six Sigma methodologies.

Familiarity with communication and software design and development. Knowledge of software specifications and standards. Desired six sigma black belt or similar training. Familiarity with new product development practices. Appropriate technical degree and 3-6 years experience.
