Project Manager 2

CITY: Evendale STATE: Ohio COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Assist in the day to day operation of the Program.
* Full authority to make decisions for the Program.
* Recommends strategy and direction for the Program. Provide project leadership.
* Prime responsibility is to identify and initiate product, component, and technology programs consistent with GE's business goals and to manage resultant programs.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities consistent with GE's business goals.
* Coordinate technology needs and programs with internal and external customers.
* Develop cost, pricing, schedule, and risk data for new initiatives and manage proposals.
* Provide direction and/or manage coordination with internal and external customer planning processes.
* Manage programs to approved processes.


Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
* At least 8 additional years of experience in a leadership role for a program or project.

* Very strong knowledge of signature control technology, design processes, applications and measurement capabilities as applied to propulsion systems.
* Exceptional understanding of government special programs and their unique operating environments, requirements, restrictions and the ability to work between and among multiple activities.
* Evidence of ability to work in exceptionally restrictive environments while balancing conflicting resource issues while maintaining compliance to GE policies and procedures.
* Sufficient breadth of personal knowledge to execute activities with minimal support staff.
* Must currently possess as a minimum a government SECRET clearance with an SBI within 5 years. Current TOP SECRET/SBI preferred. The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining TOP SECRET/SBI.

General:
* Provide leadership for Proprietary Projects team to achieve world-class, differentiated solutions to signature related problems while working within strict security environments from concept, through proposal to final execution and product transfer.
* Initiate with minimal oversight complex business deals, technology activities, and partnering opportunities to grow the business while meeting P/L targets.
* Build strong customer relationships; determine proactive, unique strategy alignments based on company/customer growth expectations.
* Interact with the highest levels of customer/government executives within strict security environments.
* Lead the identification, pursuit and capture of new customers and technologies to enhance the overall company portfolio and competitive position.
* Determine customer needs, and while working with internal/external teammates define and execute solutions across all current product lines.
* Establish and execute company funded research programs to maximize investment payback and guarantee intellectual property positions.
* Establish and communicate program direction, objectives, and measurements to assure product integrity and advancement of the state of the art.
* Leverage strong technical background to provide solutions based on CTQ's; identify opportunities beyond customer expectations.
* Lead company initiatives/program management in assigned areas, ranging from unmanned vehicles to electric power.
* Responsible for partnering w/ HR leadership to provide strong people management including recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization and teaming.
* Provide ultimate security management for all activities and related activities at multiple sites.
