Public Health Emergency Response Specialist

Position opening:  Okanogan County Public is requesting resumes and Okanogan County Employment applications for a part-time (60%) Public Health Emergency Response Specialist.  This is a grant funded position that is currently funded with contract funds that are anticipated to continue through 8/31/07.

 

Salary Range: $ 1863 to $ 1918 DOE and qualifications. 

 

Position Description:

Improves Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response capacity of Okanogan County Public Health by performing the following duties:  assists in the development, review and update of the Okanogan County Public Health District?s Emergency Response Plan; coordinates & collaborates with community partners in Okanogan County with an emphasis on reducing duplication of Emergency Response efforts, participates in the development, facilitation and evaluation of exercises to test emergency response plans, participates in emergency response training, including assessing needs, participates & is responsible for meeting grant deliverables and reporting requirements, provides support to community partners during public health emergencies, provide & participate in public health education activities to OCPH staff as well as in the various communities, performs other related duties.

 Minimum Qualifications:Background and experience in emergency response planning or emergency management, or in one of the major disciplines of public health (nursing, environmental health, health education, epidemiology, etc.)
