Quality Manager-- Refrigeration

Position: Quality Manager-- Refrigeration    Reporting to:  Director of Quality

This is a key Quality Leadership position within a phenomenal growth company manufacturing ultra premium appliances.  This position will work alongside the Plant Manager and the Director of Engineering in driving change and improvement within the facility.  Position reports directly to the Director of Quality and serves as the quality champion to ensure the customer is continually served. 


 


The successful individual will be highly self-motivated and can show past ability to direct others at a tactical and strategic level in a high volume production environment.  HVAC/Refrigeration experience a definite plus.


 


Must have the full quality tool kit and can work semi-autonomously with the ability to facilitate teams and train-the-trainers on standardized work, control plans and problem solving floor tools.  Highly energetic person that thoroughly enjoys jumping in and getting hands dirty as required to example set, drive improvement, or facilitate the learning of others when required.


 


Responsibilities cover the quality management system, driving continual improvement, and the reporting on the quality system’s performance. 


 


Required Skills:


 


promoting quality achievement and performance improvement across the facility;

maintaining a constant awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary responsibility;

assessing all product specifications and customer requirements;

working closely with supplier quality, engineering and purchasing in establishing quality requirements for external suppliers;

ensuring compliance of all required standards;

setting up and maintaining controls and documentation;

pinpointing relevant quality-related training needs;

developing and analyzing performance data to requirements;

working with other managers and staff, particularly in areas such as design, production and purchasing;

ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated;

supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks, writing technical and management system reports;

working with staff to methodically establish a clearly defined and executable quality system;

acting as the key contact with customers and taking responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.
