Description
The Federal Govt. Area and US Channel Sales team of Symbol Technologies is seeking an experienced Channel/BD Sales Manager to lead a team of Channel/BD Account Managers in the US Theater. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of successful technology driven sales experience, with both Direct and Indirect sales experience. Prior experience leading a team of Channel/BD/Direct sales professionals is highly desired. The candidate should also have proven track record analyzing territories and quotas, and developing and implementing Business and Marketing Plans including the utilization of Coop and/or MDF. Additional essential skills include: the ability to coach and mentor others; building effective relationships with internal and external organizations; demonstrable success in negotiation and conflict management, and overall business acumen.
Required Skills:
? Indirect Channel knowledge plus Direct Sales experience.
? Demonstrable ability to create and manage business development initiatives with Resellers and SIs.
? Ability to interpret Financial Statements and assist direct reports and Partners with financial acumen issues.
? Sophisticated Contract Negotiation Skills.
? Conflict Management/Resolution Skills.
? Legal knowledge, Fair Trade practices, TAA, GSA, etc.
? Exemplary communication skills ? both verbal and written; as well as effective listening.
? Ability to travel up to 20%, position will be based in the greater DC area.
Other Beneficial Experience and Skills:
* Advanced Symbol product knowledge including: scanning & mobile computing, wireless technology and infrastructure and device management systems.
* Industry Knowledge ? Understanding of Vertical Markets such as Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, Military and Law Enforcement within the Federal Govt. Sector:
? Extensive Sales and BD experience in the DoD/Intel Sectors of the Federal Govt. delivering end to end solutions through Indirect Channels.
? Extensive relationships and contacts with the Top 20 Govt. SIs, Defense Contractors, VARs and Consultants.
? ISV and Application Solution Selling experience and relationship development in communications and networking segments is also a plus.
