Regional Director - Regulatory Affairs

Responsibilities: Serve as in-house regulatory expert. Monitor and analyze regulatory, rules, policies and market activity primarily in the Northeast power markets (PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE). Monitor and analyze company filings and on-going activities before applicable Federal and State Regulatory Commissions including rulemaking activities, ongoing litigation and other regulatory activities that may affect the company. Provide strategic guidance relating to interventions in proceedings that effect the company. Communicate & negotiate internally in order to develop optimal corporate regulatory positions and outcomes. Develop, coordinate and implement corporate regulatory strategy


Qualifications:
Bachelor's or JD Degree required. Requires a strong and current knowledge of Northeastern U.S. power markets and FERC/State regulatory agencies and issues. Commercial experience required as is current knowledge of the IPP and/or electric utility generation and transmission markets, especially the ability to understand economic impact on the company resulting from various regulatory changes and litigation outcomes. Must also have the ability to analyze issues and to develop and implement regulatory and political strategies to influence outcomes. Effective communications skills, both verbal and written is a must.
