Retail Price Optimization Analyst

Job Description: This position is essential in supporting the extension of revenue management discipline into the Merchandise line of business. This includes price optimization and markdown optimization at WDW. Major responsibilities of the position are as follows: Coordinate the Decision Science activities to ensure optimal support of Retail Revenue Management vision. Partner with Pricing to ensure optimal profit margins. Manage forecast influences. Maintain alerts and rules. Manage inputs to price optimization, and identify opportunities to improve inputs. Partner with Decision Science on market basket analyses to refine affinity and cannibalistic relationships. Define the appropriate key performance indicators for the line of business. Conduct ongoing analysis of high level performance of price changes and trends for identification of what-if analyses. Identify price testing opportunities. Investigate rejected and over-ridden system recommendations. Conduct what-if analyses on business rules and optimization constraints. Identify opportunities for product price stratification and product bundling. Identify and support a vision for future system enhancements. Lead the coordination efforts of Continual Improvement Process. Identify, develop and lead the education efforts. Create and maintain partnerships with Parks & Resorts Merchandise, Pricing, Finance, IT and other key staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or equivalent

2-3 years of relevant experience

Proven aptitude for problem solving

Demonstrated strong analytical and conceptual skills

Proven proficiency in EXCEL, and in statistical analysis, and usage of statistical software such as SAS or SPSS

Proven experience in working with complex and large volumes of data, and database applications

Demonstrated strong presentation, and partnering skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MBA or Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Statistics, or Economics

3-5 years of revenue management or pricing experience

Minimum 2 years experience in retail or C&PG industry in the role of pricing or category planning
