SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - DESIGN - (JH10627)

Job Description:

We are looking for a self directed, independent individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Senior Accountant to work in our design department office. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Design Business Administration and be responsible for job cost accounting and accounts payable for the almost 100-person department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Minimum of 5 years accounting experience working for architectural firms or real estate developers.
o Extensive experience in accounts payable and project based accounting
o Excellent problem solving skills, strong analytical skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
o BS in Accounting or Business administration
o Experience with Excel, JD Edwards, Proliance, or other similar job cost accounting programs


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Maintain all accounting records for the Design Department
o Prepare project cost and budget summary reports
o Prepare month end and year end reports
o Manage accounts payable (verify cost coding and contract compliance)
o Follow up with the accounting department for check processing and delivery
o Project / job cost accounting, invoicing, WIP and project forecasting
